Here is a rare chance to own an original 60"s Anglia gasser , this car has not seen the light of day in 46 years , Just recently uncovered from a decades long Hibernation in a musty old 2 car garage , The Bobbin Bear Anglia is once again awake and wants to make some passes down the quarter mile again . this car was last sold in 1974 and since then went off the radar , With the exception of a few old photos floating around the interwebs , noone had seen it or knew where it was , That is until i uncovered it early this spring . I had no intentions of selling the car , but i have been offered a House that i really want so this once in a lifetime opportunity is going to have to be passed along to someone else as i thin the heard.
You are looking at the 1948 Anglia Known as the Bobbin Bear , this car has been a race car since the 60"s mainly doing Battle at the now gone Motion Raceway of Assumption IL . The car was originally Built and driven by Jim Daniels , Jim had the car as fast as 10.40 using a hillborn injected 301 and a t10 . Jim campaigned the car as the black and gold Daniels and Farris car and then as the flag themed Big A car . It was then sold to Mr Clark of Vandailia IL who had the car painted in its current Livery . John told me he sold the car in 1974 and lost track of it after that . Jim and John are both still alive and Jim is still racing . they have plenty of stories about this car and i will put the new owner in touch with both of them.
From the looks of it , someone was had plans to put it on the street judging by some of the parts that came with it , it includes a steel grill shell , steel hood , and an original bakelite dash . Also comes with race parts such as its Hillborn Injection , EElco Tank , gas pedal ,and wheelie bars . The front suspension is all anglia , but i have another heavy duty tube axle with spring and radius rods that will go with it as well . the previous owner cut out the floor pans and firewall to prep it for street duty and stopped there so the car is just a roller . there is no engine or transmission .
the cars frame was crudely boxed in the 60"s with a stick welder and a grinder , yes its been 10.40 in the quarter but i woud not advise it . The old boing needs to be cut out and re done to todays standards .
The rear end is a dodge 8 3/4 with 5:38"s it is still sporting its fenton gyro rears and american 5 spoke spindle mount fronts as it has had its entire racing career . It has a glass nose , blue plexi windows and glass rear fenders , the Steel Body is in great shape , there has been a couple repairs done where the A pillars meet the rockers .

Car has a clear illinois title , however it has been a race car since the 60"s , there have been many modifications along the way and i cannot find a vin tag on it anywhere .
