Vehicle description
I"m selling my 1947 Cadillac series 62 sedan. I am only the 3rd owner of the car, and have provenance on the car from new. I have the original title for the car. I bought this car in 2012 from the estate of the second owner. He did a lot of work on the car and I have photos of the car being worked on. I also have a journal from the 2nd owner with entrees on service performed and trips taken in the car. I had the car repainted in Jan of 2013 in the correct Cadillac Seine Blue color. I have the 1947 Cadillac color chart to go with the car. I also did all new wood-graining on the inside of the car on the dash, back of the front seat trim, and door window garnish moldings. The door panels are also new and were done at the same time. The 2nd owner had the seats reupholstered. The headliner is original and in great shape with the exception of some minor staining behind the drivers seat which I tried to show in the picture. I installed new sill plates. Most of the interior work I did on the car in 2014-2015. All of the chrome has been redone on the car with only one small spot on the left side of the rear bumper. I installed a PerTronix coil and electronic ignition system. The car starts and runs great, even at highway speeds. Transmission shifts well. There is a slight hesitation upon acceleration which doesn"t affect the car at driving speeds, only occurs at acceleration from a stop. The wheel covers are NOS 1970s era Cadillac wheel covers and they look great. I also have the original sombrero wheel covers that will go with the car. They do have a little pitting on them that"s why I installed the 70s wheel covers. The paint is pretty nice I would rate it an 8 out of 10. There are 3 nicks in the paint on the passenger side rear door which unfortunately I did in the garage. After the paint job I did not replace the weatherstripping on the doors as the car is never out in the rain. There is some bubbling of the paint on both sides around the body-roof line molding which started showing up about a year ago. Still a great looking car and I have won many shows locally, and have even won at the regional Cadillac LaSalle club show twice. Tires are bias ply Lester wide whitewalls with plenty of tread still left. Oil and spark plugs changed this year. I have more pics available please contact me thru Ebay if you would like to see them.
