Vehicle description
1946 Golden Jubilee convertible. A one of a kind vehicle. The grand prize give away car at the Golden Jubilee in Detroit in June, 1946. This car receives much publicity for being the Golden Jubilee convertible. Its other accomplishments are forgotten. The event needed a new convertible to give away at this event. No other car manufactures was ready to start production of a convertible except Hudson Motor Company. This car was built in May, 1946 and awarded in June, 1946. First convertible built in the USA after WWII. It is also the only gold convertible Hudson made in 1946 and the only one with a brown/tan interior. When restored, many trim parts such a hood, grill and trunk ornament were NOS so were the side hood spears, the front fender running lights and so much more. The car has two small flaws, one the line to run the motor to raise and lower the top has a pin hold. Second, the frame for the top is bent or twisted. On Sep-17-18 at 13:08:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Has a 3 speed transmission. Convertible has a NOS original wood grained dash and NOS kick panels. Also, has a number of up grades not usually found on Super Six models such as front and rear bumper extensions and NOS front fender running lights. Inside the car the steering column was nickle plated and the metal plates behind the two glass instrument panels were gold plated to carry through the gold theme. Usually on Super Six models these plates were silver. All door handles knobs are brown and not blue.
