Vehicle description

Vehicle Details 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Flathead V8. Has been in Pennsylvania since the 1950’s. Was in the same family until 2019. Was used as a spare car from the 1970’s and then for pleasure driving until parked in 1988. It was kept indoors, in a metal building with a concrete floor. I never had it sit outside, and put in a concrete floor, block building since I’ve owned it. Still has 30 years of dust and grime on it, and yes there’s plenty of dust, cobwebs and other dirt in the interior. It was pulled off the road for a wheel cylinder that needed to be replaced. At this time, I would recommend replacing all 4 wheel cylinders and going through the entire braking system. The wheels are tight, I’m not sure if any will break free once it’s winced onto a trailer. I have the rear drum puller, and that will come with the car. The fuel system has also been dormant since 1988, so that will need to be gone through as well. I did put a new 6 volt battery in it last year, and the motor did still turn over. Some of the electronics worked as well, but I don’t believe the radio worked. I topped off the radiator and it held coolant fine for 4 months before the lower radiator hose started leaking. That will need replaced, and the entire cooling system should be gone through. The interior is all complete, with some minor things done over the years. Like where the inner door panel ripped so it was stitched back together. There is a rubber mat in the rear over the original floor. Some of the windows have cracks in the glass and the passenger front window does not go down. The exterior was repainted at some point years ago. There’s some ancient bodywork at the bottom of the fenders where it meets the running boards showing up. The entire chassis has surface rust as shown, but the worst rust is the front inner fender supports that were made of light metal. They need entirely replaced. There is some rust present inside the running board area that’s visible with the doors open. The doors, hood, trunk are all very solid. Overall this Ford has a lot potential but I unfortunately don’t have the time for it. It will need towed, it will need to be entirely gone through, it does need mechanical and cosmetic attention. But for a 75 year old Northeastern car, I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better looking survivor. I can show the car in the evenings, Wednesdays and Sundays. Please bid to buy, the PA title is in my name, it is clean and most importantly, it shows the mileage is accurate! Please ask any questions, thank you! $500 deposit required within 24 hours, with the balance paid at time of pick up. I cannot arrange transport, and we need to go to a notary to transfer the title. Car needs to be picked up with 7 days of purchase. Images Download the Motors app
