Vehicle description
1946 Ford F-100 Stake Body Truck. We purchased this truck as a parade vehicle in 1992. It went through a complete frame-off restoration in time to celebrate our company"s 50th anniversary in 1996. It has only been used for parades & home shows since and has always been kept in a climate-controlled shop. This truck began life as a farm vehicle in Michigan, made its way to West Virginia and then here to us in Iowa. In has 85,126 original miles and is as close to perfect as anything can be at 75 years of age. All of the wood, except the bed, has been replaced with full-dimensional lumber and has been finished in marine-grade stain & varnish. The vehicle is completely stock including its 6 volt electrical system. The paint scheme is also period correct, although the colors are not. It does have a couple of paint chips which are shown in the last 2 pictures. It also leaks a very small amount of oil, probably from non-use. Power is derived from its 100 horsepower flathead V8 mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox. This truck runs and drives like a new "46. Please contact me with any questions. $1000 down payment due within 48 hours of auction close with the remainder in 7 days. Shipping to be the responsibility of the buyer. The truck could be driven, however it has a top speed of about 50 MPH and rides like a "lumber wagon". Enjoy the pictures.
