1945 WILLYS MB JEEP - NO RESERVE
DESCRIPTION - I built this in my back yard last year. I originally got it in 2014, from a rancher near the 29 Palms U.S.Marine Base. I was in 29 Palms riding trails in my modern Jeep, and seen it in his yard. Since I love the old vintage Willys Jeeps - I was brave enough to go knock on his door. . and after talking to him- he sold it to me. The old guy who sold it to me said he bought it off the Marine base auction in 1972. . it came without a motor, but everything else is exactly as he got it from the base. He said he never got around putting in a motor. . so it sat in my back yard until 2020. I totally tore it down (see pictures) and rebuilt it all using the exact parts that it came with from USMC base 29 Palms in 1972. . (I had to replace some stuff like bearings, and such). I finished it in November, and have been driving it around for a few months. this is not a museum piece - it is a daily driver. it is awesome!
- PINK SLIP IN HAND. REGISTERED AND INSURED. - AXLES - they are GPW axles. rear Dana 41 and front Dana 25; they have been serviced, new pinion seals. new seals. - SHOCKS- all 4 new -BRAKES - all new 9" brakes; I completely rebuilt all four brakes. all four have new parts, new pads, new wheel cylinders, new hardware, new springs, new seals, new bearings, new brake lines, new master cylinder, all rebuilt; all calibrated, all in working in excellent order. - FRAME - all cleaned and painted. no rust. -STEERING - rebuilt the steering box. it is a GPW steering (see pic). it is exactly how I got it-I just rebuilt it. turns and drives excellent. nice and tight. steering wheel is well used-prob by the Marines. . so I left it cause it belongs to the jeep. -ENGINE - F134 engine. it is a excellent engine. purrs like a kitten. it came out of my 65 CJ5 and it runs like a top. serviced; oil changed; tune up done; new 12V one wire alternator; new coil; new oil lines, new electric fuel pump, etc. - CARBURATOR - new 1904 Carb. - TRANSMISSION - T90 transmission; came out of the same 65 CJ5. shifts perfect. serviced; and lubed. new knobs, new covers. - TRANSFERCASE - T18; came out of the same 65 CJ5; shifts perfect. serviced; and lubed. - TIRES - all five brand new 700-16 NDT tires; balanced and mounted. - WINDSHIELD - new glass. (theres a military tag on it says "made in Virginia" I left it on - Marines!) - BODY - I took the body off, sanded it down completely; fixed any rust/ THERES NO RUST - primered, painted, and put back on. it"s in excellent cond. . painted it in my backyard. paint- It isn"t perfect - but it is very good to excellent for a guy having fun in his back yard :). - SEATS - original GPW seats that came with Jeep. Brand new seat cushions. beautiful. :) - GAUGES - all new; all work. - ELECTRICAL - all brand new wiring; new TURN SIGNALS work; new headlights; new front blinkers; new rear tail lights; new dash lights; new ignition; ALL NEW. - DATA PLATES - new - RADIATOR - new - BATTERY - new
The jeep has a lot of character - from the Marines who originally owned it. I was in the Marines and I bet they made a complete jeep out of this one by using motor pool parts (i.e. all the GPW parts that are on it). They prob kept it serviceable since WW2 and they finally let it go to the old man in 1972. If this MB could talk - the stories it could tell. . Let me know if I missed something; ask me any questions if you have em. NO RESERVE. HAPPY BIDDING.
LOCAL PICK UP ONLY - I WILL HELP LOAD (if you get a shipper - I will help load; If your from out of USA and need it delivered - I can deliver to NEAR by shipper/ dock for a fee - ask me :)
