Vehicle description
Pretty much a time capsule. 1945 Willys MB. I like to compare this to the USS Midway in that they both were made right before the war ended and still classified as war time.
This has numbers matching engine (correct vin and codes for this year, and original to jeep). Head is original and not ribbed. Does not have generator and alternator has been installed. Engine runs but will need new fuel pump. Carb is aftermarket.
Body has never been taken off of frame from what I can tell and in great shape. Will need some patch work around axe area and some hat channel work with a few holes in floor, but mostly the floors are solid. Dash and glove box area are great too. Fenders are in great shape and the hood is F marked at the hinges. Windshield is excellent shape and I THINK there is original glass? No rot on windshield frame inner or outer that I can find and this was stored in the desert. Seat frames original and are in excellent shape and just need canvas. Gas tank is original and holds gas. Gas sump area needs replaced underneath. Gauges look to be original, speedo needle fell off and needs to be fixed. Tire holder and gas holder original. Has been repainted but left the inside the way I got it with a lot of faded OD original paint.
Frame is straight and has straight original frame horns! Frame tag still there with vin. Still have 3 of the original bumper bolts. Unbelievable condition. I sourced a front bumper that is original and needs some work on bottom and straightening. Rear bumperetts are F marked with some pitting but in great shape. Axles still have some OD paint from 1945. Skid plate still attached. This appears to never have been separated from the body and looks like the bolts are all original for the most part.
All ID tags are original and not reproduction. So data and delivery date etc are correct.
Accessories include 1941 galvanized gas tank, 1945 canvas water bucket, tire pump, thick rope for front bumper.
Needs to have brakes done. Does not have combat rims, rear seat, or top canvas bows. Should be a fairly easy restoration. I have left the paint as I got it on the inside of the tub. The outside has been repainted. Steering can be tightened up also but is original. More pics on way.
Clean title. I have listed everything to the best of my knowledge. If you have any questions or unsure about anything it will be up to you to ask and I will do my best to answer. This will be your responsibility to pick up or have shipped at your cost. Sold as is.
