Vehicle description
My father, who was a collector, was fascinated with WWII history. He bought this special vehicule from Chicago Car Exchange in 2006. He was very proud of his jeep and cheriched it as a collector"s item in his heated garage since purchase. My father unfortunately passed away last year, and since my family can"t keep it, I am proud to offer this unique piece for auction.
Here is Description of Chicago Car Exchange when sold to my father in 2006:
1943 Ford GPW Military Jeep ""F"" stamps abound! Olive drab. Axe, shovel, jerry can, summer canvas top, 5 combat rims, 5 non-directionnal tires, pinthe hook, black-out lites, convoy lite, canvas front and rear seats, 4 cylinder engine, 3-speed transmission, 4-wheel drive.
My father wrote about it that indications were that the vehicule was attached in the final years of the war to the 473rd regiment of the 5th army which was involved in the Italian Campaign.
When my father received it in 2006, he drove it on his property a few times. Seemed to be in a good working condition at the time. Since vehicule has not been started for many years, we recently asked a mechanic to come and start the engine to make sure it is still in working condition. Mechanic changed the battery and the oil and started it after a few attemps. He drove the vehicule on the property, so we can say it is still in working condition, but we don"t know its mechanical condition. We are guessing it would certainly need a good mechanical inspection and some repairs. Please note that the vehicule is sold as is, without warranty. Please fell free to inspect vehicule or to enlist the services of a professional inspector prior to placing a bid.
Vehicule is registered in Quebec for storage.
We have the original title.
Buyer will be responsable for shipping cost and arrangments for transportation. Vehicule is located in St-Ferdinand, Quebec, Canada, G0N 1N0.
Thank you!
