Vehicle description
1942 Ford Cab and Chassis with a flathead V-8 and a 4 speed manual transmission. The truck runs and drives well. I have installed a new carburetor, air cleaner, fuel pump, coil, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I also changed the oil and filter.
I will also include the carburetor I took off and the original oil bath air cleaner.
I started building a wooden flat bed and have all of the 2x8 red oak to finish it. It is built on poplar 4x4"s and has mahogany side rails. The whole thing can be removed by taking off 6 U-bolts.
I removed the headliner and door trim, but I will include a new one (black) from Mac"s
The floorboard is the only place with real rust. .it should easily be taken care of and I have a new rubber floormat from Mac"s that will be included.
The frame rails are 117" long from the back of the cab
There is a vintage Arvin heater installed in the truck that runs, but it is not plumbed into the water system.
All of the lights work, but there is only one original style brake light and no turn signals.
A few things that I know are wrong, or not working:
-Wiper does not work -Horn does not work -Key lock is stuck in the on position, but you turn the truck off with a toggle switch -Floorboard has rust -Battery tray has some rust -Exhaust needs some attention, but it is quiet -The truck has a PTO, but the cable wont move -The inside rear tire on the left side needs a tube, its flat
The truck is titled in South Carolina as a 1942 F-5 and the VIN is 99T-469946
Mileage shows 3368.7, But I don"t know if it is accurate.
Please message me with any questions
