“There are a few tings that will need replaceiing and those are the elbow pads for driver and passenger, the gas tank tank felt and rubber Chaffee strips that go on the tank and hold down straps, since transmission and transfer case are out possibly a flywheel turn and new clutch package. Other than that all that is in need of repair to my knowledge is the rear seat frame it’s cracked and separated from the lower rivet. These parts I would recommend obtaining from Peter Debella they are the best when it comes to originality of reproduction parts. The mods that have been done to the Jeep are the transmission cover has been professionally cut out and replaced with the m38 cover for ease of maintenance likely during the Korean War. The front frame gussets and radiator grille have bolts”

Vehicle description

About this vehicle This 1942 Ford GPW is an original with updates to the exterior and interior. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle needs work and is mainly used for car shows. Seller"s Notes There are a few tings that will need replaceiing and those are the elbow pads for driver and passenger, the gas tank tank felt and rubber Chaffee strips that go on the tank and hold down straps, since transmission and transfer case are out possibly a flywheel turn and new clutch package. The front frame gussets and radiator grille have bolts Vehicle Details 1942 Ford GPW sn 40948 made on 7/1/42 in Dallas Texas. Vehicle is 90% original condition has no rust and has never been restored. The Jeep is a rare peice because it has A Ford factory 12v conversion package with radio suppression bonding wires in all the proper places, and an scr 694 radio package that was either installed at the factory or by the receiving unit. There are no reproduction parts other than the canvas top on the Jeep. The rarity of the Jeep is the conversion and the radio. If one was to try to put this package together today I would bet that it all could be found. Pull up the tm for the scr 694 radio and I have all that will be shown along with a cable ration box for the radio along with the original frequencies chart that were used for ground troops, armor units, artillery units , aviation, and shipboard communication. The transmission and transfer case have been restored using all new old stock ford not Willys leftover ww2 parts. The reason I’m selling this is because I am not able to do anything with the Jeep because of my health issues and that we have a severe disabled specious Ed’s 24 yr old son that cannot ride in it if we we’re able to take it to shows. I have 98 pictures that I can send upon request that will clearly show what I’m saying is true all I need is your e mail address and I’ll send them and answer any questions you have. I had no intentions of ever selling this Jeep and have been offered 40,000 for it. But now since it needs putting back together I feel that I’m asking a more than fair price for what I’m sure is a one of an available kind to find now . Restored I’m sure you could name your price. I couldn’t finish the above statement so I’ll do it here, leaving off at bolts, have bolts instead of rivets even though the frame shows no sign of repair or bending. The rear frame cross member has been replaced with the Willys design instead of the Ford type that has holes on each side of the bumperetts, again showing no damage or repair to the frame. That’s all there is to disclose there is nothing else wrong with the Jeep. Thanks for your interest contact me any time Thank you! ! If you have questions you can contact me directly at [email protected], Thanks again I assure you you will not be disappointed. Exterior Interior Engine Created on the Motors app
