Vehicle description
1941 Willys Round Tube Chassis
I build these round tube chassis and all of them I have built have been pro-street. This is the first small tire chassis. I built this chassis for myself the way I would want one, to ride and handle and be the ultimate car for driving hard and fast and traveling in. This chassis has 33" tall rear tires to give it the hot rod - pro-street look and yet not have to fight the big wide tires on the highway and have trunk space for traveling.
The inner and outer rails are leaned over to triangulate them, these chassis are extremely torsionally rigid, run as much power in them as you want. I have done two that have 1,000 horse engines, these chassis are 3 times stronger than the name brand frame as per my personal testing of the two side by side. Everything is included in the photos, wheels and tires come with it This chassis is actually made to be driven Severe duty front suspension - 1 1/4" dia. Lower control arms
Heavy duty Chrysler lower ball joints, spindles have been reamed out to fit the larger pins
Large dia. Energy suspension corvette control arm bushings (much larger than most brands so you don"t feel the road in the steering wheel)
1 1/8" dia. Heady duty front sway bar
1979 - 2004 Mustang style rear suspension with heavy duty 4 bars, uppers are adjustable for pinion angle changes
1979 - 2004 Mustang style 15/16" heavy duty rear sway bar
New Dutchman Motorsports 9" rear end with 31 spline axles and upgraded Timken tapered bearings
Aldan Coilovers - longer than most use for more travel 13.5" extended front shocks 16.5" extended rear shocks
Wilwood drilled and slotted black coated rotors with black forged 4 piston calipers and internal drum style e-brakes on rear
Wilwood aluminum master cylinder, residual valves and adjustable proportioning valve
Stainless brake lines and fittings with Russel black stainless braided brake hoses
Stainless fuel tank that hangs below the trunk (no gas fumes in the car! !)
Bolt in Roll bar with hardened stainless bolts (removable for paint - interior work, makes the car much safer for side impacts - rolling over) Roll bar sits deep in the body so it is not intrusive or uncomfortable, you don"t have to climb over it like a race car
Motor mounts set up for BBC SBC or LS will bolt right in too if you must
Trans mount for 4L80 Energy suspension Urethane motor and trans mounts are included
Includes all hardened stainless bolts for suspension and roll bar ET Wheels Fronts are Gassers 15X6 Michelin defender 185/65R15 tires
Rears are Fuelers 16 X 10 with 2" removed from the inside to 8" wide so it looks like a 10" wide wheel from the side Flat center cap upgrade on rears Michelin LTX 285/75 R16 tires (33" tall)
Chassis is coated in black epoxy primer just to keep it from rusting (I"m in Missouri).
If you want a show car we can polish the wheels and chrome the suspension, everything is in a raw state to be finished to the liking of the new owner. I personally prefer the racy look of the raw wheels but they could be polished no problem. The last picture is of a past car (pro street that went to Montreal Canada) and shows how the roll bar fits behind the seats, easy to get in and out of using Scat brand seats in this car. Second to last picture is this actual chassis with a body I used to have. I was not happy with the fit and finish of the body, and the build quality and thought the chassis was too nice for it and sold the body off. If you blow the picture up you can see the tube chassis behind the front tire. I can email you more pictures if you want. I build complete cars and like I said above this is the way I would build one for a fun driving car. I can finish building this car for you, I do everything in house but interior work. I would at the least recommend having me mount the body as it will need trunk floor re-working and I build my own aluminum radiator support that fully shrouds the radiator, an absolute must if you plan on driving further than the trailer ramp if you have a big motor. I also make neat stainless tube fender braces. Buy an Outlaw body or bring me a steel body and I will set it up for you. You can just outright buy it and do it your self if you want, just trying to help out as I have done a few of these and know the in and outs of them. Any questions just call me I don"t computer well. Chassis is located in Washington, Missouri zip 63090, if you want to see it in person you can fly to Lambert airport in St. Louis and I will pick you up and take you on the tour, I am a small 1 man operation so it won"t take too long. I am starting on another pro street that I will put up for sale after it is complete so it"s time for this one to move along. I may consider trades up or down for a single engine fountain.
