Vehicle description
For sale is a a very elusive 1940 Hudson series 40C pickup truck. A true, solid and rare, Barn Find. Hudson commercial vehicle production (including station wagons, trucks, panel trucks, and other utility vehicles) was less in one year than the larger truck manufacturers produced each month.
1940 is the first year of the overall body "shape" which lasted through the end of regular production for factory-made Hudson pickups in 1947. This is also the first year for an under-bed mounted spare tire for Hudson trucks.
Truck features a 3-speed manual transmission, 3/4-ton capacity rating, 212 cubic inch six-cylinder engine, a 90" bed length, and a style you won"t find in many other vehicles, especially trucks, from most any time period.
This particular truck features a very solid frame (not rusted out like many Hudson trucks, victims to collected sand and debris from hard use and few washes) and spent most of its life NOT in Northern MN, where it currently presides. Truck was purchased out of Indiana by me with help from friends a few years back with the intentions of fixing it up. .though I"ve come to the realization that I need to focus my efforts on fewer vehicles.
Running condition of the truck is unknown, though I was told by a previous owner that it has been running withing the last 5 years or so. The fluids look good and the motor is not seized.
The body was in the process of being restored but never finished, and has sat in primer for some time. Patch panels are evident, but the truck is really quite solid. Floors could use some patching, and are soft in places, but are not so bad that the cab needs to come off.
I believe I have all the chrome pieces for the grille, as well as some extra parts which are included in the sale. Please see photos for details and don"t hesitate to contact me with any questions whatsoever. Truck rolls and steers great, tires hold air, I can help load on your trailer with a tractor.
The interior is aged, but very usable. Door panels don"t look bad and the seat is solid. Headliner is absent but top bows, wood pieces, and interior light are all there.

Cash only sale.
Clear MN title in my name. No funny business please.
