Vehicle description
1940 Chevy Street Rod Hot Rod I bought this car out of Indiana on Ebay 3 years ago. The seller inherited the car from his dad and didn"t know much about it. I spent a couple years figuring the car out. It was a professional build from the early 90"s (based on date on the back of the gauges)
Narrowed Camaro sub-frame in the front, Ford 9" rear end with coil over springs ( I never figured the gear ratio). 1971-72 Chevy 400 small block 4 bolt main. Casting # 3951511 (I can"t read the VIN tag on the front of the motor.) Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock 4Barrel 1407 Carburetor (has hesitation at first hit of gas pedal, think could use a bigger carb), Roller Rockers, 350 Turbo transmission. Holley electric fuel pump with aluminum fuel cell in the trunk, battery in trunk with interior cut off switch Original frame with a tubular support frame added with drive shaft loop (see pictures) Sometime after the 90"s the car was updated with 4 wheel power disc brakes, Weld aluminum spoke racing wheels GM tilt column, stereo with CD player & amp, custom interior, 2 bucket seats, floor shifter, aftermarket gauges (see pics) Speedometer is not calibrated properly, fuel gauge slightly off I took to a local hot rod shop and had them rework the left header because it was too close to power steering line. Took both headers and had them ceramic coated. Hot rod shop thought it was a very good build. I updated key fobs for the remote door poppers, changed radiator to aluminum with an electric fan, installed electric trunk release, replaced horn, remote hide-away rear license plate, new hood springs, new valve covers, new oil pan gasket, indoor car cover, polished and clean. My goal was to take the car down the 1/4 mile. I made 7 passes this past July at the Blue Suede Cruise at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. My best run as 14.4 at 93 mph (first time I"ve ever drove the 1/4 mile). The car has a mild cam and sounds really good with the side pipes. Great weekend cruiser. Not really geared for long highway drives. Car is very presentable, though has a few scratches, dings, bubbles. I got nothing but compliments at the Blue Suede Cruise and anywhere I drive it in spite of the few cosmetic flaws (see pics). I"ve had my fun with it, now it"s time for someone else to get a great street rod at a great price. I have 6 other cars and a very nice 1955 Chevy 4 door that I"ll also be listing soon. Trying to cut down on my cars. Please come and look at the car if you can. I want the new owner to be happy with the car and enjoy it. Email me with any questions or if want specific pictures. Clear Ohio title. Buyer responsible for pick up or shipping. $500 Non-refundable deposit on Paypal at end of auction.
