Vehicle description
Offering a 1939 Graham ‘Spirit in Motion’ 4 door sedan. Here’s your chance to own an unique piece of automotive history! These vehicles are quite rare (about 6,000 produced over 3 years of production (1938-1940)) and are often considered the epitome of Art Deco styling in the automotive world. Often referred to as the ‘Shark Nose’ due to it’s prominent, protruding grille they have a wider recognition within car circles than the production numbers would indicate. Vehicle has nice upholstery, good mechanicals (see below for exceptions), but is missing some trim items. The Graham club is extremely active, and parts for these vehicles are reasonably easy to find, either as take-offs from other cars or new.
Vehicle is an older (1980’s) restoration and is showing some age (checked paint, etc.) Vehicle runs, but has been in climate-controlled storage for several years so needs a tune-up / carb cleaning. Vehicle does burn some oil. Likely due to pistons being installed backwards during engine rebuilding (Graham had a very unusual/unique way of oiling the cylinder walls). Vehicle also needs brake work. Currently pedal goes to the floor. Car is not a show car as-is, but would certainly be a great starting point for a professional restoration or hot rod. Sold as-is. Shipping, if desired, is responsibility of the buyer.
