Vehicle description
This is what appears to be a 1939 Ford Marmon Herrington 4WD cab and chassis. Vin/Serial number is BB18 4624639, cylinder head number is 081T-6050. The story I got was that this truck was in inside dry storage for over fifty years, might have been a military truck(I think not) and over the years some parts were stolen such as gauges and emblems. The inside storage has to be true in that this truck has the cleanest frame and sheet metal I have ever seen. The frame has absolutely no rust, in fact it appears to still have the original Ford paint. The cab is the same, absolutely no rust anywhere and paint is original green although someone tried to paint the dash and doors a dull red. The Marmon conversion is complete and shows literally no wear anywhere, there can"t be many miles on this truck. I was also told it has been running recently and that may very well be true, water pumps, starter and solenoid appear recent. The crank turns as easily as any flathead should. Look at the wheels; wide five, reversed and split rim in16 inch. The tires are Atlas and could very well be original. There are two sets of fenders, two hoods and one running board. Wheelbase measures 118". Original wood floors are very nice and are fine to be reinstalled. Seat is original and could be reupholstered. Windows wind up and down, windshield cranks out and cowl vent opens easily. Radiator is included are is most if not all of the interior sheet metal for the head liner. Transmission is 4 spd. and transfer case has no control levers i.e. full time 4WD/AWD There is absolutely no damage anywhere on this truck, it had a very easy life. We have no title for this truck, it was promised but not found yet so we are listing this as a parts truck. This would be an easy and worthwhile restoration. Starting price is firm, low ballers please go elsewhere. Not interested in trades. Thanks
