Vehicle description

This 1939 Cadillac 75 is an open four-door sedan that is said to have been refurbished and was acquired by the seller in 2018. The car wears a Fleetwood body finished in blue over a tan leather interior that features a privacy divider, a rear footrest and jump seats, a CD player, and a multi-tone horn controller. Power is from a 346ci L-head V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission. This Cadillac 75 is offered with a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The 75 was offered in 12 body styles for 1939, and this example is said to be one of fewer than 40 open four-door sedans built at the Fleetwood body plant in Detroit. The color is said to have been changed from black to its current blue during the 2003 work, and a Glasurit sticker with mixing ratios is attached to the inside of the trunk lid. Details include rear coach doors, running boards, driving lamps, dual side-mount spare wheel covers, a chrome and glass Winged Goddess hood mascot, a split windscreen, and four side mirrors.
The car rides on a 141″ wheelbase and features 16″ steel wheels wearing chrome hubcaps and Coker Classic wide-whitewall tires. Four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes were standard equipment. The beige mohair soft top is shown both raised and stowed, and excess sealant is pictured around its glass backlight.
The cabin is said to have been retrimmed from black to its current tan leather, and houses front and rear bench seats split by a bulkhead and hand-cranked privacy divider. Blue carpets line the floors. The steel dash is finished in faux bois, while wood caps line the doors, center bulkhead, and windshield.
The manual transmission is shifted from the steering column, to which an aftermarket turn indicator switch is also attached. The banjo-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal-sweep speedometer flanked by auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 32k miles, 500 of which have been added under current ownership. Actual mileage is unknown and exempt. A CD player mounted below the dash feeds speakers in the front kick panels.
The rear compartment is separated by a bulkhead featuring two folding jump seats, a retractable privacy divider, and a Fleetwood clock. Lap belts, cigar lighters, and a footrest are also provided for the rear occupants.
The 346ci side-valve V8 breathes through a single Stromberg carburetor and was factory-rated at 140 horsepower. A three-speed manual transmission directs power to the rear wheels.
The car features independent front suspension with upper and lower control arms, coil springs, and lever-arm shocks, while the solid rear axle is located with leaf springs.
