1937 FORD BUSINESS COUPE Excellent Street Rod Candidate or Easy Restoration Stored for over 35 Years! No Reserve Vehicle Identification Number: 183429878 Odometer Reading: 55,241 Clear Open Title Issued 5/18/1984. This vehicle was purchased from an estate in Mays Landing, New Jersey on August 25 th , 2020 and transported to my home in DeLand, Florida. Exterior, Body and Sheetmetal: No known patch panels or rust repairs! Exterior is the original color and period correct, popular and impressive, Washington Blue. Vehicle was partially repainted many years ago. The son of the previous owner believes his father did not paint it. Thus, this repaint work was performed approximately over 40 years ago. Body and Frame are very solid. The only known rust is in the typical location of the rear trunk jack/tool tray. Trim: Period correct and attractive Unity Fog Lights are mounted on the front bumper. I have the original mounting instructions. The front bumper shows minor pitting. While the rear bumper is in very good condition. The impressive grille is in excellent condition. The original windshield has developed some pitting on the upper portion. The windshield extends out freely, as does the cowl vent. Electrical: Headlights and dash lights in working condition. Unity fog lights in working condition. Rear taillights and brake lights not working. Mechanical, Engine and Engine Compartment: Engine and transmission and drivetrain are believed to be original. Engine was rebuilt on August 30 th , 1985. Invoice dated August 30 th ,1985 and itemized below. The vehicle may have not been driven after the engine rebuild. According to the previous owner’s son, the vehicle was stored in a corner of a large garage and never driven for perhaps over 35 years. The engine turns over very easily but I can’t get it to start. Engine Rebuild - Information taken from receipt dated August 30, 1985 Labor: Bore block (.060), replace valve guides, grind valve seats, recondition connecting rods, grind camshaft, assemble engine. Parts: pistons, rings, gaskets, mains, rods, cam bearings, pump kit, guides, guide seals, guide retainers, lifters, valves, retainers and keepers Interior: Seats appear to be totally original. Rear curtain covering the tire is original. Headliner may have been replaced, however, I am not sure As shown in the photos, the woodgraining is in very good condition. Nothing appears to be modified from original. The key cylinder was removed by the previous owner and I did not purchase a new one. Glass: Two rear windows and two quarter windows are original Ford Script Two door windows and the two piece windshield were replaced probably many years ago.
