Vehicle description
Re-listing due to Buyer falling through.
PLEASE! Do not bid unless you have funds arranged BEFORE hand.
VERY RARE - There were only 2,850 Daimlers produced between 1937-1940.
A VERY complete, LOW MILEAGE , "Barn find" automobile.
Right hand drive
Daimler has been owned/part of Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, BSA, Chrysler corp.
Overhead valve straight 6.
Transmission is called a "Selective gear" trans. (I took a picture of the manual page describing how to drive it)
VERY solid car! Body & under carriage.
Wood frame structure on doors needs some restoration.
Independent front suspension
Dual leaf rear suspension. The leaves actual go UNDER axle making this a VERY low stance to the car.
Because it can sit so low there is no "driveshaft tunnel" on interior. Just flat floor.
VERY Smooth driving car.
It is not a full "Driver". I have not gone through anything on the car. But it can be driven around.
Runs and drives and stops.
I have an original owners/service manual for the car. It is CRAZY comprehensive on maint and repairs.
There is a tag riveted to the top side of firewall on left side of car showing a New York City Company. I was told by a
collector that this should indicate that the vehicle was shipped over by manufacturer ( as opposed to being sent over by
individuals, such as WWII soldiers).
The picture of the Maroon & Black car shows what the colors of this car originally were. It is currently in gray primer
however on the door jams you can see the original color combo.
I took this car on trade so I do not have extensive knowledge about it.
Car is sold as -is.
You are welcome to arrange to view vehicle.
Thank you for looking !
