Vehicle description
This auction is for TWO 1937 Cadillac limousines, plus a large amount of parts AND 2 "extra" chassis for series 75 cars.My plan was to use the yellow car to complete the convertible and to supply the drivetrain and needed floor panels, but the closed car is buildable as well. . so I sourced more parts for both. Unfortunately I will not get around to these projects. .Car #1 is a series 75 model 7529 convertible 5 passenger sedan with a divider window and dual sidemount spare tires. This was a very limited production limousine that had amazing attention to detail, and shared a body and interior with the v-12 series 85 cars. This particular car has great potential and will make a stunning vehicle, whether it has a vintage Cadillac V8 or a more modern powerplant. . the possibilities are wide open for restorers or customizers alike!MODEL 37-7529 CONVERTIBLE SEDANEXTERIOR:- Car boasts an excellent front clip that is free of rust and has very solid metal. - Grille is excellent with no cracks and decent original chrome. - Hood ornament is in very good condition with no cracks.- Hood is very nice and straight, and has a good center trim strip. - Headlights are also in excellent condition with original lenses, reflectors and trim rings. - Bumpers are straight and solid, and include a set of reproduction center sections.- Six original 16" wheels are present, along with 4 original hubcaps.- All front clip chrome is present, including all small horizontal moldings small hood strip terminus molding.- "Fleetwood" cloisonne emblem from the passenger side cowl is present and in good condition.- All windsheild trim is accounted for.- All 4 original SOLID BRONZE door belt line moldings are in excellent condition. - All other cast metal belt line moldings are present and in good condition.- All exterior door handles, trunk handle and hood latch handles are present.- Both original Cadillac V8 emblems from the grille and trunk are present.- Both tail lights are in good condition, including the housings, bulb sockets and original glass lenses.- Both trunk hinges are in good condition.- Both spare tires covers are excellent, and include the original stainless trim rings.- Both wiper arms are present.BODY:- As stated, front clip is very nice.- Cowl section has had some repair, but appears to be solid.- Windshield frame is in very good condition and includes all trim.- Original front door vent window frames are in good condition for restoration, and window frames are present for patterns or restoration.- Side window frames are present for patterns.- Doors are original and have had repairs started on the bottoms; structural wood has been partially replaced but will need further replacement.- Frame is very solid and is the original to this convertible sedan. Standard sedan frames do not have the reinforcement necessary to support the convertible body style.- Front floor area is in good condition and appears to have newer wood panels. The battery tray and cover are correct.- The rear floor is present, but is not attached and will need work. A metal section from a 7 passenger sedan has been placed on the floor but is not correct (could be used for patterns).- The trunk floor is not in the car, and the rear wheel wells will need repairs. The exterior of the body looks fine, but most likely has had filler and patching done. There is another rear body section included (from a series 75 sedan) with the sale that has an intact trunk floor and rear wheel wells.- The running boards currently on the car are from a "38 series 75 car, but the yellow car has an original set of boards. There is also a set of replacement running boards that were made from sheet metal, but one has had a piece cut out of it.- The Convertible top frame is complete with the exception of the two front hinges that attach to the header bow, and the associated corner latches from the windshield frame are missing too. There does not appear to be any broken parts in the top assembly and it can be raised & lowered without much difficulty.- Both removable upright sections between the door windows are present and in good shape to restore. - Header bow is present for a pattern, as is all other convertible top wood sections.- The metal framed convertible top rear window is included and in good condition.- Rear body section will require bracing & restoration, but there are many original parts present.INTERIOR:- Dash is complete and in very good condition.- All gauges are present and are in very good condition; The celluloid faces are not warped or discolored- Front seat tracks are in very good condition.- Front seat frame is in good condition, but is probably from a closed car.- Front seat bottom cushions/frames are the split type and appear to be original to a convertible sedan.- Divider window frame is intact and has the original wood panel where the window crank mechanism was attached. Original Crank mechanism is also present and good for restoration.- All four door window mechanisms are present, as well as the locking mechanisms.- All interior window cranks and door handles are present and in good condition.- Both rear door ashtray housings are present; but only 1 insert.- Rear center lighter and frame are present.- Both rear courtesy lights are present.- Rear robe strap is present, with chrome ends.- Rear seat frame is present, but is from a closed car.- Steering wheel and horn button are in good condition for restoration.- Door panels are included for general patterns.- Interior will need to be completely redone, but the basic pieces are intact and restorable.ORIGINAL ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ARE NOT IN THIS CAR, ORIGINAL RADIATOR IS PRESENT.The yellow car has a complete drivetrain that can be used if desired.Rear end, brakes and suspension are intact. Car rolls and steers easily.I HAVE A LARGE PHOTO INVENTORY OF THE CONVERTIBLE SEDAN PARTS, AS WELL AS MANY OTHER DETAILED PHOTOS THAT CAN BE SENT TO SERIOUSLY INTERESTED PARTIES.I BELIEVE THAT THE ONLY 7529 SPECIFIC PARTS THAT ARE MISSING ARE THE 2 FRONT CORNER HEADER BOW LATCHES AND THE 2 ADJACENT HINGES THAT WOULD ATTACH THE HEADER TO THE CONVERTIBLE TOP FRAME. THE REAR CLOCK IS ALSO MISSING, BUT THIS IS NOT A UNIQUE PART.CAR #2, 37-7519 SEDANEXTERIOR:- Body is basically solid, top has some repairable dents.- Non-sidemount fenders, which have a streamlined look.- Front clip is good, some rust in lower areas.- Nice headlights, with lenses.- Nice grille- ALL belt line moldings are present.- Most of the smaller front end moldings are present, might be missing 1 or 2.- Hood ornament is present, but is cracked.- ALL door, trunk and hood handles are present.- Four original 16" wheels.- I believe there are 2 or 3 hubcaps included.- Running boards are present.- Tail lights are present.INTERIOR:- Dash is intact and in decent condition.- Steering wheel and horn button are decent.- Front seat frame is decent, rear is missing the upper part. - Window frames and cranks mechanisms are present.- All vent window assemblies are present.- All wood window trim is present and restorable.- Robe bar is present with chrome fittings.- Foot rest bar is present, with all fittings.- Floor heater assemblies are present.- Courtesy lights and dome light are present.- Lighters and ash trays are present.
