Hello and thank you for your interest in one of my favorite cars I have the chance to own. The one aspect of this cars popularity is quite ironic. The Police enjoyed the car for its power under the hood, and therefor its ability to chase down criminals. Car thieves particularly enjoyed stealing this car so they could run from the cops. Despite being introduced during the midst of America"s Depression, the "34 Ford Model 40 Deluxe was quite successful amongst the public.
This 1934 has one older honest repaint done in the 70’s in lacquer ( has some crazing and cobwebbing in paint / See photos) This does not show very much in person but I feel that it is important for any potential buyer to know. It has a extremely straight body on this car.
All original Sheetmetal, no rust or patches ever. Original flathead V8 and transmission ( matching vin #)
Original serial # on left frame rail matches clear California title.
Runs and drives perfectly, whisper quite motor.
Interior was restored in original correct Lebaron Bonny wool fabric when painted many years ago, immaculate interior.
Out of an estate sale from huge vintage ford collector a few years ago in California. Always been a dry eastern Oregon / California car
In the late 1990"s the car had gone through an extensive rotisserie restoration. No expensive was sparred on this thing inside and out. The interior was restored to original factory specs using original factory material. There has been no evidence that the car has ever been in any kind of accident. Every panel lines up perfectly. All glass is clear with minor imperfections. Most components were recently serviced including brake and fuel systems. Always stored in doors. It features the powerful 221 CID 85HP "L-Head" V-8 engine and a three speed sliding gear. Floor Shift manual transmission. Stromberg two-barrel downdraft carburetor. Original Ford factory Fidelity AM Radio with a beautiful Faux wood interior trim. It comes complete with a Greyhound hood ornament. Firestone White Wide Walled Tires. Whire Spoke Wheels, dual horns, cowl lights, RARE option Rumble seat and continental kit. "Flip Up" Luxury Front Windshield. Rolling down back window. Cherry Wood trim finish, pul down shade visor. "Aftermarket" turn signls and finished off with the classic "Ooga" horn! This true American Classic still features its original full metal body, aside from minor lacquer stress around the body, this "Cops and Robbers" car is finished in beautiful Burgundy With Black exterior paint on the fenders to top it off.
When you drive this car you can truly feel the power of the V-8. The clutch responds smoothly and with ease. The engine all around as been very well maintained and taken care of. The car had a full appraisal done in 2012 by Auto Appraisal Network in Lake Forest California. A couple pictures show the results. The car has been in Dry Storage ever since purchased.
