Vehicle description

Here is a scarce 1933 Franklin Model 16 sedan. I say scarce because Franklin was struggling to get cars sold during the great depression. The 1933 models still had the long lines , clamshell fenders, V- Front grille, raked windshield with no clunky sun visor, rear spare, long hood with door ventilator"s, dual wipers, bullet shaped Depress Beam headlights and fender lights, rear suicide doors. The rear taillight is correct and complete. The car has the correct trim on the fender splash pans and battery box cover. This car is a good original car that has never been apart or monkeyed with. It was owned 50 years by a long time member of the HH Franklin Club. When he passed I purchased the car and parts that were in his collection. The wood in this car is excellent no signs of any damage. The sheet metal is excellent as well, fenders are straight and never been banged up or broken beads. The car was painted once in 1961 (I found the receipt for the job) and is not in very good condition .The glass is all in tact with one cracked door window. All the interior and exterior handles are correct and complete. The interior seats , door panels, window shades, carpets , headliner, interior sun visors, and foot rest are all pretty darn nice for original. The car has the nice walnut wood around the windows that is all in good condition. The gauges are all original and complete including the clock. Even the original ignition switch with Franklin coded keys are on this car.The front seat is adjustable as well the steering column to accommodate all sized drivers. The car has glass bud vases for fresh cut flowers. The car has a dealer installed hot air heater controlled by a knob on the dash. The top looks original ,has been coated many times and still has its correct and original trim that seals it to the body. The car has a new battery, generator charges like it should, the lights work (on high and low beam), the brakes work, clutch works fine, and the car drives up the road straight as a string. The gas tank has been removed and was cleaned/sealed to remove old gas. The car comes with a current Penn. title In closing this is a great unrestored car . Why buy a old reprobate of a car that will need years of work to only never get it back together as tight , straight and CORRECT as this car. I bought this car with the intention to improve its condition and drive. I was severely injured 18 months ago when I was hit by a car as a pedestrian and can not use the car. If you want a big , heavy, 132 inch wheelbase car that has 4 wheel hydraulic 14 inch drum brakes , never monkeyed with , buy this car . I may accept a partial trade of any make. You will not be disappointed! Mike 5 8 5 7 3 8 1 5 4 1
