Vehicle description
In the world of street rods there are nice cars, and then there are cars that go to major shows and get handed trophies just for showing up. Recently a customer of ours decided to pull out all the stops and drop $130 K to create a top-notch show car which nails that elusive trifecta of classic hot rod attitude, perfect modern car comfort and universal appeal. The result is this world class "33 Ford three window which is probably the most street rod we"ve offered for the money in close to five years. It recently took home Street Rod Magazine"s Pounding the Highway Award at the 2011 World of Wheels and has literally won a trophy at every show it has attended. If you"re looking for a fully sorted show stopper which was envisioned as the ultimate Good Guys centerpiece and built with the absolute best components on the market , this killer "33 Ford is sure to make you the star of any major event you attend!
This hot Fords smooth and solid lightweight body began life at N&N Fiberglass where it was a steel reinforced , hand laminated, completely cured and fully assembled to ensure quality that is consistent with steel. Once the body arrived at it"s build destination, it was chopped, channeled, covered in a coat of spectacular PPG Kandy Kolor Orange Glow over Sterling Silver paint and detailed with bright orange pin stripes for a completely custom appearance. With nary a ripple or misaligned panel anywhere, the result is a positively evil little street rod which looks like something straight out of the mind of an accomplished artist.
Striking an excellent balance of old and new alike, this Ford maintains just enough traditional influence to satisfy even the most skeptical hot rod fans while presenting just enough polish to win over the harshest judges. At the front of the car, pristine stainless grille bars are housed inside of a chrome plated grille shell which looks excellent between two chrome Maxtel headlights and chrome bullet-style LED turn signals. Behind that grille, a one piece steel hood meets a chrome trimmed windshield which is flanked by billet aluminum rear view mirrors and cleared by a roof mounted stainless wiper. At the sides of the car, the typical clean and simple look which defines classic fender-less hot rods is amplified by glowing orange paint and accented by orange ghost pin stripes, shaved door handles and just the right amount of visible chrome suspension bits to draw your attention. At the back of the car, a shaved and pin striped trunk lid is sandwiched between a smoked rear window and chrome trimmed cats eye LED tail lights. A Billet Specialties license plate hangs in front of a polished and finned differential housing, polished rear coil overs and a fully detailed rear axle.
Under the steel hood of this killer "33 Ford you"ll find a fresh and fit Southern Performance Systems 468 cubic inch V8 which features a complete matching Comp Cams valvetrain that centers on a Comp Cams 580 lift hydraulic roller cam. At the top of the body-matched engine, a polished Hilborn carburetor scoop shoots air into two chrome Holley 650 4-barrels that are fed by polished stainless fuel lines. Below that fits perfectly between custom chrome plated "High Boy" branded valve covers and a polished Weiand blower intake. At the back of the intake a Haywire wiring harness utilizes a carbon fiber dressed coil, a new Mallory distributor and new Taylor plug wires to sequentially fire the cylinders, and at the sides of the intake, Edelebrock Performer RPM aluminum cylinder heads utilize anodized aluminum roller rockers, new keepers, new roller lifters and Beehive springs and pushrods to turn raw elements into power. At the front of the motor, a fresh V-belt spins Big Al"s polished pulleys, a Tuff Stuff chrome alternator and fresh chrome water pump which sits on a slick polished bracket; and at the sides of the motor, ceramic coated Sanderson Limefire Headers bark a tune through Car Chemistry internal baffles. The cars highly detailed engine compartment is finished in the same spectacular hue as it"s exterior panels and features virtually EVERY show and go piece imaginable from a fully equipped aluminum radiator to completely chromed and braided hoses and billet dipsticks.
Behind that immaculate 468 cubic inch engine you"ll find a completely rebuilt GM Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed automatic transmission that"s been equipped with a shift kit, a 10 inch 2,500 RPM stall converter, an aluminum finned cooler and a polished and finned aluminum pan. That body-matched and fully detailed transmission sends power to a chrome plated Winters Quick Change rear end with pavement pounding 4.10 gears which move a professionally built pro stock frame that features a pinched and bobbed front end. Holding that frame off the ground is a chrome plated Pete and Jakes front suspension which features a polished Maval Unisteer steering rack and a polished for link rear suspension which has been equipped with a panhard bar and Aldan Eagle chrome coil overs. Braking is handled by a four wheel Wilwood system that utilizes polished calipers to clamp cross drilled torors, and the frame hides all new stainless lines which cycle both fuel and brake fluid. power flows to the pavement through a sweet set of 15 inch front and 17 inch rear American Racing Salt Flat Specials which wear black inlayed knock offs inside of P155/80 BF Goodrich front and 31x16 50r17 Hoosier rear radials. The bottom of this Ford is completely show detailed with a freshly painted floor, body-matched suspension bits, body-matched frame rails and enough chrome to attract a herd of Raccoons. As the cars previous owner put it, "Whatever isn"t painted is chromed or polished".
Inside this "33 Ford you"ll find a great looking Tan ultra-leather interior which is both classy and fun. The contoured and pleated Wise Guys bench seat is firm, provides good support and looks fantastic. At the sides of the seat, pleated door panels flow into the cars custom covered firewall and hang substantial custom arm rests below slick billet aluminum door handles and body-matched door frames. Below the seat, custom console which features a polished Lokar shifter with a bad ass flaming dice shift knob, concealed controls for the cars power windows and ignition, and an AM/FM/XM Pioneer CD player which sends power through a hidden amplifier and four hidden speakers, In front of the driver, the cars body-matched and Orange pin striped dash centers a full array of Classic Instruments gauges inside of a great looking Lokar polished gauge bezel, and a polished aluminum Billet Specialties steering wheel sits on a polished Flaming River tilt steering column. Behind the cockpit, the car"s fully upholstered trunk features bright white panels above a carpeted floor which provides enough room to carry all the car show gear you need.
You really can"t ask for a better street rod than this 1933 Ford. Very few miles have been put on this head turner since it was completed and everything is immaculate and 100% show ready. It is the perfect car for anyone who wants a top-notch build without spending two years and six figures achieving it.
