Vehicle description
Up for auction is my very rare and mostly Original 1933 Dodge Brothers Pickup Truck. It still has it"s original flathead six engine that runs very well. 1933 was the first year that Dodge made a light duty pickup and they were years ahead of their competitors as far as engineering and styling. They did not make many of these trucks and sadly most of them as many other vehicles of that era were crushed during the steel drive for WW2. This particular truck was purchased a number of years ago from the 3rd owner. The story I got from him is it was stored in a warehouse most of its life by owner number two. It was occasionally taken out for a drive to keep it in running order and repairs were made as needed. At some point in the 50"s it was repainted a dark navy blue that almost looks black in the pictures. From what I can tell It was originally a lighter blue color. Although it was fully operational when I got it the mechanicals were very worn and in need of repair. The "SUICIDE" doors still close like new and the old paint has a beautiful patina. The truck is virtually rust free, it just has a very small spot on the pickup bed floor and the extreme RH rear fender has a period correct "repair". I did fab up a valance that transitions the rear fenders below the bed but never got around to painting it. The chrome radiator shell and headlight pods are still in fantastic shape. The Ram radiator cap still stands strong and the grill bars are dam near perfect. All of the glass is original and the front windshield tilts out. I personally would never restore or hot rod this truck because of its survivor condition. You also have to ask yourself how many unrestored 1933 Dodge pickups are left? My goal was to make it a safe and reliable driver with and eye to keeping its originality. The truck Runs and Drives Great, It also Steers, Handles and Stops Remarkably well. Brake lights, horn and blinkers also work. The single windshield wiper does not work. The original wire wheels are in fantastic shape. I have driven 60 mile trips on many occasions with no issues whatsoever. I will also include some extra parts as well as the spare tire and bracketry that mounts it to the RH Passenger Fender. Please understand that this truck is 88 Years old and you are buying it as is. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. Not interested in any trades. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. I will assist in any way I can. I also reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Bidder must send me a $1000 non refundable deposit at auction end. Truck has a Clean Transferable NY State Registration. Truck will not leave my possession until fully paid. Bank Check, Wire Transfer of Cash. Below I have listed the repairs and improvements that I have made.
