Vehicle description
This is a kit car originally sold by Classic Motor Carriages in 1988. The entire kit remained in boxes and a large crate until I purchased it in 2015. If you’ve looked at other Gazelles you may notice this one is less ornate than usual. I wanted it to be a bit sportier and offer more utility. Hence the mini-truckbed, cropped bumpers, lack of showy running boards, chrome horns & exhaust pipes. I have experience building airplanes, working on cars & motorcycles, and I have a well-equipped shop for doing all the work. The kit went together nicely. It uses the Chevy Chevette engine and transmission and front and rear-end. I had the engine professionally rebuilt and it runs perfectly with a low idle. The transmission is automatic with an overdrive switch on the dash for highway cruising. I added electric power steering which makes driving more comfortable. It also has a heater. There is no convertible top because I store it indoors and only drive it on nice days. You may notice there is no speedometer in the dash. I have a phone mount in place of the speedometer and use my phone on a speedometer app. It works very well with large readable numbers. I had to present the car to the California CHP for inspection after building it and the officer said it’s fine, just as long as I have an accurate speedometer. It has a clean CA title in my name and requires no CA smog check. I am happy to assist in shipping from my end and there is no rush to pick it up if you need time.
