1929 MERCEDES SSK/GAZELLE REPLICA HAND BUILT IN 1985 Offered for sale is a very unique style of vehicle patterned off the original 1929 Mercedes SSK/Gazelle The original Mercedes-Benz SSK was a roadster built by German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz between 1928 and 1932. Fewer than 40 of the original cars were ever built. An original sells for millions of dollars at auction today. The name is an abbreviation of Super Sport Kurz , German for "Super Sport Short", as it was a short wheelbase development of the Mercedes-Benz Modell S. The SSK"s extreme performance and numerous competitive successes made it one of the most highly regarded sports cars of its era. THIS CAR WAS MY DAILY DRIVER FOR THE PAST YEAR SO IT HAS BEEN DEPENDABLE. This replica was hand built in 1985 (33 years ago) using a 1985 Chevrolet Chevette donor car.
