Vehicle description
Nice old Rare Brass Model T 1912 Torpedo Runabout.
Older restoration that needs some paint touched up.
I got it a few years back from an estate sale in Fowler Ill. that had like 20 others there for sale so he knew what he was doing but couldn"t get much info on it.
It must have been his favorite because they said it was stored in like a new enclosed trailer while the rest were in barns.
Neighbors said it ran but never been able to get anyone to help me try it! I looks to nice and together not to but I don"t know and mad no one will help me. Called Model T club, guy ran right over to try to buy it but wouldn"t help me try to start it like I asked to do in the first place.
I found the head had been welded up on top so had a crack head but looks like it was done ok, shows signs of old residue on side so just incase I got another nice original head for it. I ordered gaskets but then told they were out of them and never been able to source one yet as the couple I contacted said due to covid it might be awhile.
I never got anyone to help me with it so never been able to see if it runs but it surely looks like it will as everything is in nice order but no help so never got anywhere on it and I have acquired way too many other projects I need to get rid of most for heath reasons that"s making me not able do much on any of them anymore.
Nice paint on body, hood has some paint coming off and gas tank near cap.
Nice fenders but looks like final sanding was done with some course sand paper as it has some random scratches in it, pictured.
I"m pretty sure I got an extra rim, maybe two for it, need to check. No extra wheels.
I bought a new large ID tag for it that goes right above the steering column but haven"t found anyone to stamp the numbers on it yet.
Top is nice, window looks clear as if it was just unwrapped. Top pad has a mouse eaten spot on it I guess from when it was stored with the top down.
Seats great.
I bought a new horn bulb for it, a new like 6" copper pipe and a spring for crank and put it on.
Gas lights look all there, copper line is all there but right at the bottle thing on running board is rotted off hose that goes to the bottle. It looks new inside bottle, outside looks like a crack started on the side?
Perfect Nice radiator other than like all the brass needs polished up to make it really shine nice!
Really a great car and Ford"s 1st production Sports car. All wood looks great.
It has the Rocky Mountain Brakes option!
There is no number on motor pad where there usually at (pictured) and heard a few reason why, who knows why it"s not on there? Might have been ground off?
I have a open not dated title for it from who I bought it from, I never put it in my name because your suppose to have an ID OD done in this state when you get one from another state and it didn"t have any numbers on the car to go by so never did it. I seen others that had an ID tag that goes just above the steering column on the firewall so I bought one but never got any one to stamp the numbers on it yet so never put in on yet. So all should be good with that, after getting someone to stamp the numbers on it.
When I got it at the auction they just had stamped tags hanging by a wire on most of them so that must be OK to do or they wouldn"t have done it but I wanted it done more correct before titling it, with the correct ID tag that I got, just not stamped yet and put on.
Most don"t have there original motor anyway anymore so really can"t go by that much anymore?
I have a few extra box things that make the spark for each pug?
It has a little battery wired up in it under the seat I"m told is to help assist starting it?
I think it will run fine and whoever buys it I"m sure knows how to fire it up without braking an arm, I"d like to drive it once before they load it!
Make it yours! No reserve! Good luck bidding!
Any questions or want to see it before hand contact me, be nice if someone would fire it up for me beforehand so we can take a spin in it! Car"s near Pacific Mo. Rob
