Welcome to the listing of this rare model Land Rover Defender 130 DCPU.
The D130 is located and titled in Miami Florida.
This Defender has been built for the Dutch market. From 1994, Dutch tax code would have required onerous taxation of the 127 inch wheelbase Defender, so Special Vehicles extended the wheelbase by 2 inches to 129. (The standard model 130 wheelbase is actually 127. ‘130’ was just a name change.) This pickup bed is neither the usual 130 double cab or Hi Cap. It is longer than the standard 130 double cab bed, and that’s why the factory called it ‘Hi Cap.’ This configuration is without doubt the rarest 127/130 model.
When delivered to the Dutch LR dealer this vehicle was sold to a dutch fire department, where it was used to about 2010, when it was sold to the public. The second owner was one of the last official shepherds who used the 130 for hauling and directing his sheep, He always made shure the 130 was maintained well. He did this with a befriended mechanic so we do not have any papertrail of the service unfortunately.
Originally Portefino Red from factory. When it came out of service it was painted White with Silver roof for the second owner.
The frame is factory original and is solid. The bulkhead is solid with the exception of the lh upper outer corner, shown in pictures. The doors have been welded before, and some need some attention again, or place new doors.
Additions on this cool truck are Rebuilt transferbox SVX wheels Puma hood ( original LR) Husky winch Heavy duty axles This Land Rover is a good running driving truck, which can be used as a daily, as a worktruck, or to be used for an awesome build. You will have one of the rarest Defenders around! It would be good to give it a good service and some love.
