Vehicle description
Price is OBO.
I have photos of the restoration, 3 sets of keys, and an Illinois title in my name. But I leave for France at the end of the month so I would want to make arrangements soon . I"d rather not have to put the car in long-term storage.
More photos are available, as well as video.
Je parle français aussi/hablo español tambien. I speak French and Spanish as well, for people who prefer those languages :)
Main description:
I"m selling my antique imported car, a 1962 PL-17 GLS, which I chanced upon while I was in France this fall. The sleek black lines spoke to me and I knew I had to see her in person. Jay Leno has one of these!
I"m told that she was inherited from a grandpa; the grandsons, both in their 40"s, spent the past year restoring her under the tutelage of two brothers who raced Panhards back in the day (name on request).
The body has been repainted and rustproofed, and the motor has been restored. This includes piston rings (they said "segmentation," so I hope I"m translating that well), distribution, joints/seals, cleaning. I have a video of the motor bench test in France, and a book of restoration photos. Small things to anticipate, if I haven"t gotten to them yet: windshield wiper motor needs replaced (I have one already, taken from another PL-17), one wheel bearing, and the fabric trunk liner probably needs replaced as well. I couldn"t find any rust on the vehicle and she drove beautifully on my 200-ish mile journey across France.
There are 6,930 km on the odometer (that will increase slowly). I"m told that she was seldom used, but all I have is what is on the dashboard. I have 3 sets of keys.
She is currently stored in Chicago, in the Rogers Park neighborhood. I can show the vehicle/take it for test drives, but only to those who are ready to purchase.
Serious buyers, don"t hesitate to contact me with questions: 773-791-1455. I"m happy to work with you on shipping arrangements, I"m somewhat familiar with how these services work.
