Vehicle description
Up for sale is my 2004 Optima 8.5’x40’ Enclosed Car/Racing 5 th Wheel Trailer. The trailer is all aluminum and weighs 5,915 pounds. It comes with dual 7,000lb axels. The tongue area of the trailer is 8’ and the floor space is 32’. I have hauled 2-cars many times with this trailer. It’s a snug fit, but it works. There are 20 tie downs on the floor. Trailer also has electric winch housed in the front compartment to keep the floor clean and remote control is in main trailer area. The front tongue has an electrically controlled hydraulic lift that makes hooking up and disconnecting from your tow vehicle a breeze! The rear door ramp also has two 6-foot extensions on it to be able to load very low-profile cars. I have hauled many low-profile Ferrari race cars and I haven’t had a single car scrape yet. I just had four brand new tires installed on the original Alcoa aluminum wheels. Bearings and brakes are good and are checked every 6-months. I did have a problem with the right side in front of the tires where one of the welds broke. I pulled off the interior panel (too damaged to reinstall) and had the area reinforced and welded. There is also a small amount of damage near the side entrance door where a truck grazed the side of it while he was turning. The damage was minimal enough to not warrant any repairs. The trailer was original owned by Orange County Choppers and the trailer was used to transport their Liberty Bike around the country and the interior panels of the trailer is signed by all the veterans that came to see the bike. I’ve owned the trailer for 8 ½ years and it has been an amazing trailer. Last year I polished and ceramic coated the exterior panels. A lot of trailers will get a grey streaking down the panels from runoff from the roof. The ceramic coating has protected the panels from this and it looks amazing and is much easier to keep clean. I’m selling since I have been out of racing for a number of years now and most of my hauling is for single car situations so this trailer is just too much for me. Asking price is $12,500
